0 Asbestos: The major risk factor for Mesothelioma

I've been reading different articles on how we can abort to exposed in mesothelioma cancer or also known as malignant mesothelioma. It's a rare form of cancer that develops from the protective lining that covers many of the body's internal organs, the mesothelium. Based on the research, the main caused of having malignant mesothelioma is being exposed in any form of asbestos, a set of six naturally occurring silicate minerals exploited commercially for their desirable physical properties.

Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos, or they have been exposed to amphibole asbestos dust and fiber in other ways.  It has also been suggested that washing the clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos can put a person at risk for developing mesothelioma. However, mesothelioma has been reported in some individuals without any known exposure to asbestos. In rare cases, mesothelioma has also been associated with irradiation, intra-pleural thorium dioxide, and inhalation of other fibrous silicates, such as erionite.

The symptoms of mesothelioma include shortness of breath due to pleural effusion (fluid between the lung and the chest wall) or chest wall pain, and general symptoms such as weight loss. The diagnosis may be suspected with chest X-ray and CT scan, and is confirmed with a biopsy (tissue sample) and microscopic examination.

0 Healthy Tips of the Day: Heart Disease Go Away

A healthy heart is essential to live long, healthy and happy life. In the recent years, people of all ages are getting into the grip of coronary heart diseases, strokes and heart attacks. Statistics reveal that heart disease is no.1 cause of death in men and women worldwide. According to atlas published by World Health Organization (WHO), in conjunction with the USA's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), heart disease and stroke will become the leading cause of both death and disability worldwide by the year 2020, with the number of fatalities projected to increase to over 20 million a year and to over 24 million a year by 2030.

Cholesterol and heart diseases

A healthy diet is a key to healthy heart. If you are obese or having sedentary lifestyle or suffering from diabetes or high blood pressure, then you are at high risk of getting into the grip of coronary heart diseases. Cholesterol is a major cause of all kinds of heart diseases. The risk of heart diseases is directly co-related with bad cholesterol levels in the body. When there is too much of bad cholesterol or LDL building up in the coronary arteries, it gradually forms plaque that can narrow the arteries and hampers the flow of oxygen that is vital to the function of the heart. Such condition is known as atherosclerosis. If a clot forms and blocks a narrowed artery, it can result into a heart attack or heart stroke.

Oats: for healthy heart

Oat is a great food for maintaining a healthy heart life style. Recognizing the benefits of Oats as a healthy heart diet, FDA gave it the status of a "health claim" in 1997. It allowed manufacturers to advertise the health benefits on boxes of oatmeal and other oat products. Few health benefits of Oats for heart have been discussed as follows:

1. Oats bring down LDL (bad cholesterol) without lowering HDL or good cholesterol. Recent studies reveal that everyday consumption of 3gms of soluble oat fiber can lower the total body cholesterol by 8-23 percent and helps to maintain a healthy heart life style. In order to qualify this healing claim, such Oat product must contain at least 0.75 grams of beta-Glucan soluble fiber derived from Oats.

2. Oat contains high level of fiber, manganese, and magnesium which helps to strengthen your heart and prevent it from many heart diseases.

3. Lack of selenium is one of the reasons for coronary heart diseases. Selenium is also used as antioxidants to repair cell damage caused by free radicals. Selenium deficiency can lead to low thyroid function, problems with your immune system and heart problems. Eating Oats regularly can help an adult to meet the recommended 55 mcg daily requirement of selenium and ensure they do not become selenium deficient.

4. Oats also contains unique antioxidants called Avenanthramides that help protect artery walls from the build-up of plaque.

In order to increase intake of Oat in your meals, you can take Oat meals with nuts or fresh fruits as breakfast or can also add Oat flour, when you make breads and muffins. With enormous healthy heart benefits, Oats can be truly called as a miraculous meal for heart.

2 Tips of the Day: First Date

Just want to share this to you guys, some tips that might help you during your first date. I am not Love expert or any relationship guru just for clarifications ok? LOL

What to do...Dinner, Movie?
In most cases, you can't go wrong with a romantic dinner. Although the cinema is a traditional choice, there is virtually no intimacy or romantic atmosphere as you are both having to concentrate on a film rather than on each other. Generally the idea of the first date is to get to know each other better and perhaps more intimately. There's no doubt about it, having dinner with someone is a pretty intimate experience and it may be daunting to have to sit in front of someone you don't really know for a couple of hours and eat in front of them whilst maintaining a smooth flowing conversation! The truth is it will nearly always be better than you imagined providing you follow some fairly basic rules.

GUYS: (Conversation)
  • Ask her about her work, goals and desires
  • Listen to her I repeat... Listen to her
  • Compliment her on how she looks and especially compliment her shoes...she probably spent ages getting ready and will really appreciate it
  • Listen out for any similarities you may have so you form a 'queue' of things to discuss when appropriate
  • Keep a mental list of easy to discuss subjects such as favourite movies, food types, music
  • Try and find out about her views and values before openly displaying yours
  • Give her centre stage first...find out as much as you can about her...be interested in her life and resist the temptation to talk about yours too much initially
  • Don't bullshit about things
GUYS (Physical Stuff)
  • Don't stare at her breasts...no matter how appealing they look
  • Generally, if the date is going well, you'll both be mentally aware of it and you will know the appropriate time to make a more physical move
  • Give good, confident eye contact
What to eat?
  • This is generally up to how comfortable you feel. So many dishes come with garlic that it is almost impossible to avoid and it really isn't a huge issue.
  • It may be better to avoid ordering something that will be really messy and difficult to eat, such as lobster.
Paying the Bill
  • Always a difficult moment, but on a first date, always offer to pick up the bill...after all, you invited her out. She may well offer to contribute which is fine.
